ELECTRIC FOG FREE SHOWER MIRROR RECEIVES PATENT

ST. PAUL, MN, August 9, Copyright © - NewHome Bath and Mirror, Inc. today announced the receipt of the patent for its highly popular Shower ClearMirror™. The patent covers any electrical mirror-defogging system that is to be used in shower and sauna surround applications. The announcement was made by Reid Sellgren, Vice President of NewHome Bath and Mirror, Inc. and co-designer of the product line.
The Shower ClearMirror and its battery-operated cousin, the SRA ClearMirror are complete systems that make shaving in the shower a realistic and time-saving process. The basic technology consists of a glass mirror of four standard sizes, a 24-volt silicone rubber heater adhered to the back and a transformer that is turned on and off with the bathroom light switch. The popular 11 7/8” x 11 7/8” size is designed to sit flush in the shower surround and take the place of a standard 1’ x 1’ wall tile. Including shipping the shower unit retails for about $149 through many of their online and growing retail contacts.
“The process is similar to how the defog system works in an automobile,” explained Bob Verhey, President of NewHome Bath and Mirror, “where your heater heats the glass window. In our case, the heater heats the glass and keeps the front of the mirror fog free.”
Added Sellgren, “We have been an innovator in mirror defogging technology for years, and our products have already led in safety by being the first, and in some cases the only, to carry the UL listing. We are also pleased to have received this patent protection because — in addition to the continued growth of our retail and hospitality markets — we also know that the large bath fixture manufacturers will quickly integrate our technology into their existing shower and steam-bath systems.”
The Shower and other ClearMirror products have been used for years in high-end hotel applications including 24” x 24” fogless shower mirrors installed in the Caesars Hotel, Las Vegas. Other notable clients include Hilton Hotels, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Four Season Hotels, American Airlines, and Royal Sonesta Hotels.
